Every orbit, every sunrise, and every glimpse of home reminds me why we explore. NASA astronaut Sunita Williams has returned to Earth after an extended nine-month mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS). Originally scheduled for a brief eight-day stay starting June 6, 2024, the mission was prolonged due to technical issues with the return spacecraft, leading to a total of 286 days in space. Upon her return, Williams was observed with graying hair, sparking discussions about the effects of prolonged spaceflight on human physiology.
